In the newly dedicated library

The Mission of the Zambia Knowledge Bank (ZANOBA) is to encourage all Zambians in the Southern African country to document, preserve, and enjoy their traditional and modern Zambian culture and technology among people who live in the rural villages and Provinces to the towns and cities of the African country. The organization was founded in 1995. The village library is located at Nkhanga in the remote Western region of the Lundazi District in the Eastern Province of Zambia in Southern Africa. The Zambia Knowledge Bank Libraries: Nkhanga Branch was officially opened on Saturday December 8 2012. The District Commissioner, Ms. Janet Mvula, who is the top government official who represents the Office of the President of Zambia was the guest of honor who gave the opening speech, cut ribbon, and took the guided tour of the library with other district officials (see photos below). One of the future objectives of the organization is to embark on establishing village libraries in all provinces of Zambia.

The Zambian Knowledge Bank is recognized as exempt from Federal Income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of the United States Government. The Zambia Knowledge Bank is registered with the Registrar of Societies of the Government of the Republic of Zambia. Since September 2006, the organization has been conducting a fundraising campaign for the construction of the Zambia Knowledge Bank Village Library at Nkhanga. The 3100Sq. Ft. Village Library is now close to completion. Donors may deduct contributions to ZANOBA towards their taxes. Bequests, legacies, devises, transfers, or gifts to ZANOBA or for ZANOBA use are deductible for federal estate and gift tax purposes.
